Key Dates:

-Newsletter mailed to all residents in early May (watch for this in the mail and we will link it here when completed)

-Budget Hearing: May 12th, 6:30 pm, CPP High School Cafeteria, 201 Cantigney St, Corning, NY 14830.

-Budget Postcard: May 13th (watch for this in the mail)

-Budget Vote: May 19th, 11 - 8 pm at four polling places.

Propositions:

Proposition No. 1 – 2026-27 Budget

Shall the annual budget of the Corning City School District for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the amount of $150,709,245, be adopted?

Proposition No. 2 – Bond Resolution

SHALL the Bond Resolution of the City School District of the City of Corning, New York, entitled: “Bond Resolution of the City School District of the City of Corning, New York, adopted March 18, 2026, authorizing the acquisition of various school buses and vehicles; stating the estimated total cost thereof is $1,129,000; appropriating said amount therefor; and authorizing the issuance of $1,129,000 serial bonds of said District to finance said appropriation,” be approved?

Proposition No. 3 – Southeast Steuben County Library Section 259 Vote

Shall the sum of $1,567,977 (One Million, Five Hundred and Sixty-Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred and Seventy- Seven Dollars) be raised by annual levy of a tax upon the taxable property within the Corning-Painted Post Area School District for the purpose of funding the Southeast Steuben County Library.

What if I am not registered?
You can register at our Registration Day, Tuesday, May, 5, 2026 at the BOE Building, 165 Charles St., Painted Post, between 12 pm and 4 pm . A qualified voter is a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age and a resident of the district for at least 30 days prior to the vote.

How do I obtain an Absentee Ballot?
An absentee ballot application must be received by the District Clerk at least 7 days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter.

Can I vote early? Yes. How to obtain an Early Mail Ballot
Any eligible voter that wishes to vote early for the annual school district election may be eligible to apply for an early voter ballot. To receive an early voter ballot, an application must first be completed. Click here for application

By Mail: The District Clerk must receive this application at least seven (7) days before the election (May 19) if the ballot is to be mailed to you. 

In Person: If someone will be personally picking up the ballot at the District Office, then the application may be submitted up to the day before the election (May 19) Note: You may not submit your application more than 30 days prior to the election
