Almost Maine

Almost, Maine is a play structured as a series of nine short plays that are all connected by their setting: the fictional, remote town of Almost, Maine, on a single, cold winter's night. The plot revolves around the love lives of the town's residents, exploring themes of falling in and out of love with a touch of magical realism. The stories are interconnected and feature a mix of romance, heartache, and humor, all unfolding under the magical glow of the northern lights.

Reviews for Transport Group’s 2014 Off-Broadway revival of the play were very favorable. The New York Post said: “Mega-hit ALMOST, MAINE lands somewhere between Norman Rockwell and Our Town. Unabashedly unhip. There is no pretense of an edge here — the show offers a sweetness and decency that’s become rare at the theater. At this point, it’s a welcome breath of fresh air.”

Almost, Maine has been the most produced play in North American high schools over the past decade.
