Gooseberry Park by Cynthia Rylant is the book that Erwin Valley families are reading as the focus of the One School One Book Program. The school kicked off the program with a brief assembly in the gym on Friday, January 10, with teachers leading the school in a sing along. The following Monday, each family was given a copy of the book to take home.

The book was chosen by the Erwin Valley Elementary School Building Leadership Team as it has a theme of kindness and friendship. Principal Ms. Merrill said, “We will read five chapters a week.  And we are asking families to reread and discuss with students.” She added, “Our intent is to build community.”
