Dave Quackenbush, Lead Teacher, Humanities
Dave Quackenbush is the Lead Teacher and teaches Humanities and Band at the High School Learning Center. Dave has been with the school since it opened in 2003 and was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee that designed the school. Dave has an A.A.S. in Liberal Arts from Corning Community College, a B.S. in Secondary Education/Social Studies and an M.S. in Education from Elmira College and has completed administrative coursework for both School District and School Building Leadership through SUNY Brockport.
Vanessa Miller, English Language Arts
Vanessa Miller has been teaching English Language Arts in the Corning-Painted Post District since 1998. She taught 8th grade English at Corning Free Academy and 9th grade English at the high school before moving to the High School Learning Center in the fall of 2021. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education from SUNY Fredonia and a Master of Arts in English from SUNY Buffalo State College. When the weather is suitable, Vanessa loves to hike and bike on the local trails. She also likes walking with friends, baking for her family, and watching movies in her spare time. Vanessa enjoys her experience at the HSLC because of the unique, bright, and kind students she works with, the chance to continue teaching great literature, and the flexible work environment.
Glen Stevenson, Math
Glen Stevenson, a resident of Big Flats, is originally from Michigan. He earned his Bachelor's in Mathematics from Elmira College. He continued at Elmira for his Master's in General Education. Glen started teaching in the Corning-Painted Post Area School District in 2004. He and his wife Patty love to travel, golf and cook. In terms what he enjoys most about his career, he said, "I love to see the 'lightbulb' go on when a student has an epiphany with a topic."

Mike Sanfratello, Guidance
Michael Sanfratello is our School Counselor, who joined the High School Learning Center in 2010. Michael received his Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling from Alfred University. Mike enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and pets (Great Danes).
