NASCAR Driver Visits Driver Education Students to Promote Safety

NASCAR Driver Ross Chastain visited students Tuesday, July 30th, to talk about driving safety and the importance of wearing seat belts. The visit was made possible with support from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and the New York State Police. He also brought his practice car for students to sit in.

Chastain, an eighth-generation farmer whose family grows watermelons, and JD Motorsports, help encourage seat belt use through the “Protect Your Melon” initiative. JD Motorsports’ race cars will feature the “Protect Your Melon” logo in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Zippo 200 at The Glen at Watkins Glen International on Saturday.
