The High School Learning Center's Fall, 2020 art class was held in the flameworking studio at The Studio at CMOG. Caitlin, Ethan, Fianna and Nick learned the basics of flameworking under flamework artists Stephen Brucker and guests. They learned about and created marbles, decorative leaves on stems, pendants, glass swans and mice, beads and other glass specialties. The HSLC students showed great interest and success with their glass making skills. The six-week course culminated with a virtual open house where each student showcased the creation of one flameworking project while providing narration and answers to Stephen's questions. It was most rewarding to observe each student's growth and confidence as they created flamework projects.
