Dear CPP Families and Students:
We are entering Phase 2: Exposure to New Learning focus of instruction for our students. Although we do not know our return date to school yet, our teachers have created instruction, work, activities, experiences and connection opportunities for April 14-May 15. Many of our teachers will be using Google Classroom and Google Meet to share this work on a weekly basis. Please know that we understand some families do not have internet access at home and we have made arrangements for packet based work in these cases. Teachers and counselors will be reaching out to you and your students to identify who will need the packet based work. We will continue to work with you to ensure your students get what they need.
- Phase 2 will have components for both our students that have internet access and availability and those that will be using paper packets. Our teachers have worked around the clock to ensure that both formats will be available. At the start of Phase 2 we will distribute packets and Chromebooks to students that need them. Please stay tuned as we are developing the distribution plan now and will stay connected to families on these next steps through the district website and a call home from administration that will outline the specifics. As we receive more direction from the State Education Department, we will share it with you.
Middle School and High School (6-12):
- We will use this time to expose your students to new learning through activities, assignments, projects and virtual meeting time each week. Students will receive feedback weekly. This feedback will be used to share progress with students. Pass/Fail and numeric grades will be given to students in School Tool; however, they will not directly impact their average at this time. As we receive more direction from the State Education Department, we will share it with you. BOCES students will receive separate information regarding their schedule from their BOCES instructors/classroom teachers.
Special Education (PreK, K-12):
- We are working diligently to communicate with all families. A separate letter will be coming to you this week to share special education specific related items.
Packet Work for those without Internet.
- Building Administrators will be sending a voice message on Thursday, April 9th with building specific pick-up information. This information will also be available on your school’s webpage.
We know that this is not a perfect system as we are all learning and adapting to this pandemic as it evolves. We care about your students. We miss them. We look forward to the time when we can see their faces again everyday.
