CPPHS Student Council Organizes Food Drive

Student Council

This is Jenna, Riley, and Charlotte, seniors from Corning-Painted Post High School's Student Council and Class Council. We are proud to announce that this year, we will be hosting a friendly competition against Horseheads High School to benefit our local food pantries.

Starting Monday, November 25th and running to Friday, December 20th we are encouraging our students to bring in non-perishable food items to their home base collection bins. For a complete list of items please go to the Corning Food Pantry website

Be sure to check out the C-PP Instagram and website for updates on our drive! Together, we will Beat Hunger and Beat Horseheads. Whatever school collects the most food, will earn a trophy with the other school's mascot presenting it a future home basketball game of the winning school.

Community members are welcome to donate food to support the high school's effort at the following events:

Monday, Dec. 9th is Game 1 of our Beat Hunger Campaign as Maine-Endwell Schools come to Corning! JV starts at 5:30 pm and varsity will play at 7:15 pm. Any fan from either school that brings 2 cans of food get in free. Beat Hunger!

Tuesday, Dec. 9th is Game 2 of our Beat Hunger Campaign - fans that bring 2 cans of food get in free!

A donation box will be set up during Beauty and the Beast shows

Saturday, December 14th: The public can stop by the high school (Stadium side/ cafeteria) from 9 to 12 noon and Assistant Principal Mr. Barber will be there to manage the collection of items.
