Athletics Update from Mr. Saks

Greetings Corning Hawks Nation! The following is an update from the Athletics Department on summer and fall plans…

We are unsure, at this time, exactly what the fall sports season will look like, but we will work under all State and County directives to ensure a safe return for our students and coaches.

We have received several questions about this summer, and here is the latest information we have: A message from the Governor on Friday, June 26th, stated no interscholastic activities can take place on school grounds at this time. If that changes, we will communicate that information. Section IV schools are still planning for the return of fall sports when and if that is allowed through the Governor and New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). As we receive guidance, we will be sure to share that information with you through our social media platforms and website.

We encourage you to take advantage of any open areas to work on your skills and conditioning, while following all social distancing guidelines. If your sport has been allowed to open at the club or travel level, participate. We are all anxious to get back to work on our campus and to see our student-athletes playing on our fields, when the State gives us permission to do so.

Mr. Saks
Athletic Director
