Voter Qualifications

A qualified voter is a U.S. citizen who is at least 18 years of age and a resident of the District for at least 30 days prior to the vote.

Unable to Vote in Person?

You may obtain an Absentee Ballot application and Absentee Ballot by contacting Karen Dutcher, District Clerk at 936-3704, Ext. 1001.  An Absentee Ballot application must be completed and returned to the District Clerk prior to receiving an Absentee Ballot. If the Ballot is to be mailed to the voter, the application must be received at least seven business days prior to the election.  In order for your vote to count, completed Absentee Ballots must be returned either in person or by mail no later than 5:00 p.m. on Election Day.  

PLEASE NOTE:  Absentee Ballots may only be issued or mailed directly to the individual requesting the Ballot.  An individual requesting an Absentee Ballot may not designate another individual to receive or pick up a Ballot on his or her behalf.

 

 

Register to Vote

The School District will hold a Personal Registration Day for any individual meeting the qualifications above on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at 165 Charles Street, Painted Post, N.Y. 14870.  This will be the last day to register in order to be able to vote in the School District’s September 24, 2019 Special Election. 

 

On the Ballot

Shall the Resolution of the City School District of the City of Corning, New York entitled: “Resolution of the City School District of the City of Corning, New York, adopted July 31, 2019, (i) authorizing the construction of alterations and improvements to District facilities and the sites thereof; stating the estimated total cost thereof is not to exceed $80,255,000; appropriating said amount therefor; authorizing the expenditure of not to exceed $1,350,000 from the District’s “General Capital Reserve Fund” to be expended towards the cost thereof; and authorizing the issuance of not to exceed $78,905,000 serial bonds of said district to finance the balance of said appropriation; and (ii) authorizing the construction of energy conservation improvements to District facilities at the estimated cost of not to exceed $8,400,000,” BE APPROVED?
