Kelley Bacalles grew up in Elmira, NY and graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1998. She attended and graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Spanish with a Secondary Education Certificate in both disciplines. While starting her teaching career at Horseheads Middle School, she also graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont in 2006 with a Master’s Degree in Spanish. Kelley then transitioned her career to Greater Southern Tier BOCES in 2008 where she was an Instructional Support Teacher in Curriculum and Technology. She then earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from the College at Brockport in 2013. She became a BOCES Director of Technology, and then an Assistant Principal of the Career and Technical Education Program for BOCES at the Bush Campus. Kelley then was chosen as the GST BOCES STEM Supervisor which she held for a year before being hired as the Supervisor of School Innovation Elmira City School District.
Kelley is also an Adjunct Professor at Corning Community College where she teaches Spanish online, as well as a Dignity for All Students Instructor at GST BOCES.
Kelley is recently married to George Bacalles, who is a History Teacher at the Corning Painted Post High School, as well as the Varsity Football Coach. Together they both coach a Challenger Little League Team and volunteer for the Sister Cities Organization in Corning. Kelley and George enjoy participating in several community service programs throughout our community as well as supporting the Corning Painted Post School District programs.
