Additional Opportunities for Parental Involvement BASEBALL PARENTS ASSOCIATION: Contact: Janet Grant (President), jgrant@salient.com The Baseball Parents Association is a parent group (consisting of parents from both East High and West High) that was formed to support the Corning Hawks Baseball varsity and JV teams. They meet about once a month throughout the school year to fundraise to support both teams, including the varsity team’s annual trip to Myrtle Beach, SC for a baseball tournament over spring break. There is no cost to join and all parents of Hawks baseball players are encouraged to participate. FRIENDS OF CORNING WRESTLING: Friends of Corning Wrestling (FCW) organizes efforts that will advance the development and education of children through wrestling in the entire CPP School District. Membership is open to any person having an interest in promoting the sport of wrestling at any grade level in the district. Membership is without dues or mandatory participation. FCW supports Hawks wrestling with many activities including: fundraising; meet and tournament planning; meals and lodging for traveling teams; off season participation in clubs, camps and competition; and purchasing of special equipment. HAWKS SPORTS BOOSTERS: Contact: Janet Grant (President), jgrant@salient.com Hawks Sports Booster is a non-profit organization run by parents of Corning Hawks athletes. They support all sports teams and individual athletes that may need financial assistance for team requirements. They fundraise all school year by working concession stands and selling spiritwear. In the past they have provided money for weight room equipment, sports camp fees and drinks for teams going to sectionals. Teams can ask for assistance in purchasing items at any time. Boosters’ main event is the Senior Scroll banquet the first week in June to honor all senior athletes and award various awards/scholarships. Meetings are monthly and all parents of Hawks athletes are encouraged to join. CORNING HAWKS PARENTS LACROSSE ASSOCIATION
