About Quantum Leap
Quantum Leap (QL) was the identity assigned to Corning-Painted Post Area School District's strategic approach to improving curriculum and instruction between 2002 and 2007, the years when this approach was newly conceived and operationalized. The design, development and early implementation of Quantum Leap were made possible by a grant from the Corning Incorporated Foundation, C-PP's long-term partner in education. The Corning Foundation grant, which expired in 2007, was an investment in educational excellence and a tremendous gift to our community. As a result, C-PP is well poised to take a quantum leap into the future. The District is extremely grateful to the Corning Foundation for its generosity.
Many have asked what will happen to Quantum Leap now that the Corning Foundation grant has expired. Part of the answer is that QL was never a separate program; rather it was a redesigned approach to improving curriculum and instruction. It brought about the culture existing today in the District - one characterized by a drive to do whatever it takes to improve instruction and learning for all students.
C-PP maintains a strong focus on its vision to be a model of educational excellence, with District leaders weighing all curricular decisions against the formula of Rigor + Relevance + Relationships = Educational Excellence. These new Three Rs are the true legacy of QL and they live on.
The Corning-Painted Post Area School District continues to advance a number of ambitious initiatives that were born out of Quantum Leap. To learn more about these initiatives, see the Educational Excellence Welcome Page.
