Since the Corning-Painted Post Area School District's (C-PP) learning goals of Rigor, Relevance and Relationships are designed to prepare students to succeed in a rapidly changing and technology-driven world, it is no surprise that the District has high standards for its Science curriculum. Through C-PP's approach to teaching Science, students explore life, earth and physical sciences at every grade level. Understandably, bringing the pages of Science to life for all of our students is challenging. Our integrated K-12 Science curriculum achieves this difficult task by balancing hands-on experiences with rigorous subject matter study.
Thanks to our dedicated faculty and highly supportive community, C-PP students receive rigorous Science instruction backed up by hands-on experiences that bring all of the sciences to life. At every grade level, the instruction nurtures curiosity, analytical skills and an appreciation for how the world is shaped by technological advances. In so doing, we equip students to progress successfully through school, and position them for further success in college and the work force.

These dedicated Science Web pages are designed to help inform C-PP families about the Science curriculum in our schools. Please read on and follow the links to learn more. You may also download our companion brochure: Science in Our Schools: Grades K through 12

The Corning-Painted Post Area School District continually strives to do whatever it takes to improve instruction and learning for all students. Facilities concerns and budget constraints present challenges to the delivery of Science instruction in our District. However, we are committed to doing everything we can with all of the available resources to expose our students to the wonders of Science and to help them achieve their personal best in this and all subjects. For example, the District is working hard to update classrooms with current technologies such as wireless internet access, LCD projectors and Smartboards. Community partnerships and innovative ideas that help bring the field trips to the students have been invaluable in providing enriching Science experiences despite a squeezed budget that does not allow for many traditional field trips.
