Partnering for Success
The Corning-Painted Post Area School District is committed to engaging the community as a partner in its drive toward becoming a model for educational excellence. As a first step, nearly 1,800 people participated in a series of focus groups, the findings from which were used to develop the Vision and Mission, for our student achievement strategy, as well as the Rigor, Relevance and Relationships Learning Goals. Equally important, the Corning Incorporated Foundation has partnered with C-PP by providing generous support for our efforts to improve instruction and learning for all students.
During the five years we dedicated to designing, testing, modifying and launching the Quantum Leap student achievement effort, a broad-based Steering Committee served to provide ongoing community input to the District on the initiative.
On an ongoing basis, C-PP has a long history of providing opportunities for parental involvement in the schools through PTAs, Building Leadership Teams, parent-teacher conferences and volunteering. In addition, local businesses collaborate with the District by providing job shadowing, mentoring and employment opportunities. And, Corning Community College (CCC) is an integral partner with the District's High School Learning Center which is located on the CCC campus.
C-PP's partnerships with these key stakeholders in our community are essential to educational excellence and they embody the Relationships Learning Goal.
