Many of us have the impression that some people "get Math" and others just don't have that kind of mind. But the truth is that mathematical thinking, processes and principles are skills that anyone can learn. In fact, schools teach Math differently nowadays, using activities that kids enjoy, that help them think mathematically and that give them practice using a supply of problem-solving strategies for tackling a host of Math challenges. Educational Excellence and Mathematics in C-PP Elementary Schools The Corning-Painted Post Area School District is deeply committed to educational excellence. We take every possible opportunity to ensure that all students in C-PP schools receive superb curriculum and instruction in every subject. So when we had the opportunity to replace aging Math textbooks, we sought out the best Math teaching tools available. A committee of teachers researched various programs and, after piloting two high quality curricula, agreed to implement both programs. The two programs will complement one another, with one serving as the core and the other providing additional resources and tools to reach the learning needs in the classroom. The two programs are:
