Early Childhood: Student Experience

C-PP delivers research-based, developmentally appropriate early education programs through three programs offered at Frank Pierce Early Childhood Center. Their mission is for children and their families to learn and grow together in a nurturing and supportive environment to prepare them for future academic success.

Head Start is a Federal program for children and families who meet the federal guidelines for limited incomes. Families on Public Assistance and Medicaid are eligible to participate. Children with handicapping conditions are accepted if Head Start is the most suitable placement.

The Pre-Kindergarten Program is designed by the New York State Education Department. Children are selected for the program based on the basis of their family's economic status and special needs.

The Pre-school Special Education program provides services to students whose needs based on the classification of a pre-schooler with a disability by the Committee on Pre-school Special Education are warranted in the self-contained classroom setting.
