Begun as an enrichment program, and dedicated to the memory of the late Dr. Daniel Donovan, the Donovan Academy is not a building or an institution but a unique concept of resources and programs open to all students who attend Corning-Painted Post Area School District schools. Funded by grants, the Donovan Academy offers innovative courses, resource people, seminars, workshops, internships and special summer courses.
A sampling of programs, which often varies from year to year, includes:
- Short Story Contest
- Challenger Trip
- Writers in Residence
- Math Team
- Odyssey of the Mind
- Annual Science Fair
- Summer Program
- Field Trips
Students, teachers and community residents may make proposals for additional courses or programs.
