Required

  1. Pens with blue or black ink (no red except for social studies, no gel for any class please)

  2. Red pens for use in social studies class only (about 48 cents for 10 pens at a local store)

  3. Pencils with #2 lead and eraser tops or separate eraser

  4. Yellow highlighter to highlight missing homework & notes

  5. Colored pencils for maps & diagrams

  6. Loose-leaf notebook paper

  7. 8 BIG separate folders with double pockets (larger are easier to use)

  8. NON-BREAKABLE ruler with both cm and inches (rulers with holes break easily)

  9. Protractor (small - 5" - 6" preferred)

  10. One single subject spiral notebook for English

  11. Composition book for science labs to be kept in science room

  12. Social Studies inexpensive 3-ring loose-leaf notebook (1 1/2 to 2" deep) to be kept in Social Studies room

  13. 8 BIG separate folders with double pockets (larger are easier to use):

    • 2 for English; 1 for Health; 1 for Science; 1 for Social Studies; 1 for Foreign Language; 1 for other information

 STRONGLY Recommended:

  • 3 tab dividers for the social studies loose-leaf notebook

 These May Also Be Helpful:

  • Flat zipper pocket for colored pencils and math items

  • Small book bag (smaller can fit in small lockers and weighs less on young, growing backs)

  • Small home dictionary

  • Some type of binder to hold large folders to carry back and forth to classes and home
