Weighted Grades for Diploma Program Students

Because IB Diploma Program is so challenging, the C-PP Board of Education has approved weighted grades for all DP courses to ensure the grading system is fair for students who have chosen this rigorous course of study.

Each marking period the grades for DP courses, whether for certificate or full Diploma, are weighted by a factor of 1.05. For example, if a student earns a grade of 90 for a marking period in IB Standard Level Mathematics, a grade of 93 will appear on his report card and school transcript. The weighted information will then be used, along with other relevant information, to arrive at class rankings for the graduating class.
