DP Curriculum Model

The IB Diploma Program (DP) offers one-year standard level (SL) and two-year higher level (HL) courses in six subject groups:

Ø Language A (English)

Ø Language B (French or Spanish)

Ø Mathematics and Computer Science

Ø Experimental Sciences

Ø Individuals and Societies

Ø The Arts

Students choose to take one or more courses for certification, or they can pursue the full IB diploma. Full diploma candidates must take at least three and not more than four courses at the higher level and the others at the standard level. This allows students to explore some subjects in depth and some more broadly over the two-year period of the DP.

In addition, Diploma Program candidates will explore, investigate and create within the three elements that form the core requirements of the Diploma Program curriculum:

Ø Theory of Knowledge

Ø Creativity, Action, Service

Ø Extended Essay
