Quantum Leap

Quantum Leap (QL) is the Corning-Painted Post Area School District’s strategic approach to improving curriculum and instruction with a goal of improved academic achievement for all students. Through QL, we have moved forward aggressively to identify and support the critical elements of student success. This process has brought a number of changes to our schools — including IB — all focused on improving teaching and learning. We are committed to helping every student achieve their personal best while in school so they can graduate with the knowledge, skills and character they need to succeed in college, in work and in life. IB is helping us get there.

Quantum Leap is grounded in the following equation:
Rigor + Relevance + Relationships = Educational Excellence. These “Three Rs” are the true legacy of Quantum Leap, and have been the foundation since the initiative began five years ago with generous support from Corning Incorporated Foundation, our partners for QL and IB.  While the QL grant has expired, the District’s commitment, dedication and willingness to work hard on behalf of all students have not.  

More and more, the concepts of Rigor, Relevance and Relationships are being adopted by other school districts across America, and they even have been validated by a number of educational experts including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Every aspect of IB is in line with the new “Three Rs.”
