Welcome to the Corning-Painted Post Area School District’s International Baccalaureate Program. Corning Free Academy, Northside Blodgett Middle School, East and West High Schools have been officially designated as IB “World Schools,” and we are proud to be the first and only school district in New York State to offer this world-class educational curriculum to all secondary students. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programs are a critical component of our Quantum Leap student achievement initiative to improve student performance. IB is the “how” of Quantum Leap — integrating QL’s Rigor, Relevance and Relationships learning goals into meaningful learning experiences for all C-PP students every day — helping more students achieve at higher levels faster. Through IB’s Middle Years Program, we offer all students in grades 6 through 10 the benefits of a curriculum designed to inspire critical thinking skills and lifelong learning. C-PP high school juniors and seniors can enroll in the IB Diploma Program, choosing either to pursue the full two-year program to earn an IB diploma, or rigorous individual courses for deeper learning and to earn college credit. In addition, District elementary schools have long engaged in just the kinds of integrated, collaborative teaching and learning that the IB programs deliver — reinforcing Rigor, Relevance and Relationships in our classrooms each day. A quick review of these pages will help you understand the many advantages offered by the IB programs, and why the Corning-Painted Post Area School District chose IB to deliver the best education possible to C-PP students. You will find a variety of information regarding the IB programs we offer, as well as updates and forms to make your child’s IB education the best it can be. In addition, we encourage you to visit the International Baccalaureate Organization’s very useful and informative site. |
